Subashi, Buddhist archaeological site in Kuqa, China

The Subashi Temple ruins extend over 1 square kilometer along the Kuqa River banks, divided into eastern and western sections with multiple Buddhist structures.

The temple complex operated from the Han Dynasty until the 12th century, receiving visits from the Buddhist monk Xuanzang during the Tang Dynasty period.

Archaeologists discovered metal items, pottery, ancient coins, scripts, and Buddhist documents that demonstrate the site's connection to the Silk Road trade.

The ruins stand 23 kilometers from Kuqa County, with the western section containing temple remains, monk residences, lecture halls, and stupas against mountain backdrop.

The eastern temple section features a grand pagoda court arranged in ascending elevations along the mountain slope, with distinct architectural levels.
