Tianhou Gong

Tianhou Gong is a temple in Gulou dedicated to Mazu, the goddess of maritime safety. The structure displays traditional Chinese architecture featuring red walls, ornamental pillars, and intricately carved wooden details throughout its interior.

This temple originated as a shrine to Mazu, a deity who emerged from a mortal woman's spiritual transformation. Devotion to her began in the Song Dynasty and spread widely, especially among maritime communities.
