Tianjinxi Railway Station Building

The Tianjinxi Railway Station features a 400-meter barrel vault roof rising to 57 meters with diamond-shaped steel and glass construction patterns. The facility contains 24 platforms, including 9 high-speed rail platforms, and connects with Tianjin Metro Lines 1, 4, and 6.

The station opened in 1910 as an important regional transportation hub. Major renovations in 2008 modernized the facility to accommodate Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail infrastructure requirements.

The name "Tianjinxi" means "West of Tianjin" and reflects the station's location in the western part of the city. Visitors notice how the architecture connects the northern commercial district with the southern traditional center, bridging railway tracks, a river, and roads.

Clear signage and multiple levels help visitors navigate the facility with ease. Connection with the metro system provides straightforward access to different parts of the city.

The entrances feature arched cantilevers and tall windows that flood the interior with natural daylight. This design protects passengers from direct sun exposure while creating a bright, open space.
