Beijing Capital Theatre is a theatre building in Donghuamen featuring multiple performance halls equipped with modern stage technology. The facility hosts theatrical productions, operas, and concerts across different-sized spaces.

Designed by architect Lin Leyi, the theatre was built in 1954 and won the Architectural Society of China's award for outstanding architectural creation in the 1950s; it was later included in a British general history of world architecture. In 1956 it became the dedicated performance venue of the Beijing People's Art Theatre, whose first use that year was a dress rehearsal of the play Sunrise. It was listed as a registered cultural relic of Beijing's Dongcheng District in 2012.

The theatre's foyer holds a drama bookshop, an artists' gallery and a drama café, so audiences can browse before a performance. Since 1956 the resident company has been the Beijing People's Art Theatre, whose first use of the building was a dress rehearsal of Cao Yu's play Sunrise (日出).

The theatre sits near Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, making it easy to reach by public transport. Regular performances run throughout the week at different times, so you can plan your visit with some flexibility.
