Gaomin Temple, Buddhist temple in Hanjiang District, Yangzhou, China.

Gaomin Temple is a Buddhist sanctuary in Yangzhou featuring five worship halls, multiple pavilions, and the grand Daxiong Palace spanning 40 meters in length. An octagonal meditation hall housing Buddha figures forms a distinctive architectural element within the complex.

The temple was originally built during the Sui Dynasty in 601 and received its current name following Emperor Kangxi's fourth visit during the Qing Dynasty. This imperial connection shaped its development and significance through the centuries.

The meditation hall remains a working space where monks practice daily, using the burn time of incense sticks to measure their sessions. Visitors can observe this quiet routine and sense the focused nature of monastic life here.

The temple opens daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with free admission, making it easy to visit. The convenient bus route 37 from central Yangzhou provides straightforward access to the location.

The temple sits where Sancha River, Yiyang River, and the ancient canal meet, giving it a distinctive location. A tower on the grounds was climbed by Emperor Kangxi himself to observe the surrounding landscape.
