Ganlu Temple

Ganlu Temple is a Buddhist temple nestled in the mountains of Jingkou, featuring a distinctive iron pagoda that rises through four levels. The site spans roughly 3,500 square meters and includes multiple halls and pavilions arranged across the terrain.

The temple was founded in 256 during the Eastern Wu dynasty, making it one of the region's oldest religious sites. The iron pagoda was constructed in 825, and the entire complex was relocated to its present location in 1078.

The temple serves as a place where visitors come to pray and meditate in honor of Buddhist teachings. The halls contain statues and sacred objects that reflect the deep spiritual meaning this location holds for believers.

Entry to the Main Hall is through small side doors, as the front gate leads directly to the back wall. Plan time to climb through the different levels to fully explore the complex.

A 1960 restoration revealed a buried box containing over 700 sacred relics, including eleven attributed to Buddha himself. This discovery underscored the temple's significance as a major Buddhist pilgrimage destination.
