Former Residence of Zhou Enlai in Shanghai

This Spanish-style residence on Sinan Road stands four floors tall with spaces for receptions, offices, and living quarters. A garden featuring a fountain provides a private retreat adjacent to the working areas.

The building served as an office for a political party in 1946 during important negotiations that followed World War II. This period shaped its role as a place where significant political activities took place.

The rooms display furnishings and work materials that reflect how a key political figure lived during the 1940s. Visitors can see everyday objects that show how people worked and spent time during that era, from typewriters to vintage radios.

Photography is not permitted indoors, so visitors should plan to observe and take notes instead. The location is accessible during regular hours, and guests should allow time to explore both the interior rooms and the garden area comfortably.

The ground floor holds a preserved automobile that recalls the travels of the original resident. The garden contains a tree planted by the resident and family that continues to grow to this day.
