Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Luwan Campus is a university grounds with teaching buildings, student housing, and research facilities in an urban area. The site combines newer structures with older buildings and provides facilities for academic activities and daily student life.

The campus was originally the grounds of Aurora University, a Catholic institution founded in 1903. After the 1952 departmental reorganization it became the campus of Shanghai Second Medical University. In 2000 that university merged into Shanghai Jiao Tong University, forming the School of Medicine, and the site became the Luwan Campus. The campus is split by the North-South Elevated Road into a teaching west side and a dormitory east side.

The campus is where students move daily between modern teaching buildings and older structures that mark its past. The university holds regular lectures and exhibitions where researchers share their work and students engage across different fields of study.

The campus has dining facilities, medical services, and a transportation system connecting various university locations throughout Shanghai. Visitors should know the grounds are an active learning space where access to some areas may be limited.
