盛新中学与佑贞女中旧址

Shengxin Middle School and You Zhen Girls Middle School were located here as two educational institutions with traditional architectural styles and classroom spaces from the early modern period. The buildings show how rooms for teaching, administration, and school life were arranged at that time.

These two schools emerged in the late 19th century as pioneering educational institutions in Beijing. You Zhen introduced an innovation: it was among the first schools to deliberately teach girls, breaking from a deeply established system.

The buildings show how Chinese schools changed during the early modern period and what new teaching spaces were created for girls. You can still see today how these institutions were organized and what role they played in women's education.

The site is located in a central area of Beijing and is well connected by public transportation. When visiting, bring enough time to explore the different buildings and rooms at a leisurely pace.

Original furniture and teaching materials from the early 20th century are still preserved in the classrooms, showing how lessons actually unfolded at that time. These direct traces allow visitors to step into the learning world of that era.
