Pagoda of Monk Wansong

The nine-storey octagonal brick pagoda rises 15.9 meters tall, combining architectural elements from both Yuan and Qing dynasties in its structure.

Constructed in the mid-13th century to honor Chan Buddhist monk Wansong Xingxiu, the pagoda underwent substantial renovation in 1753 under Emperor Qianlong's direction.

The pagoda contains an original seven-story brick structure within its outer shell, representing traditional Chinese Buddhist architectural methods and burial practices.

Visitors can access exhibition rooms displaying historical artifacts and explore the surrounding courtyard filled with pomegranate trees and roses.

The 1986 restoration revealed the original 13th-century structure completely preserved inside the larger 18th-century exterior shell.
