Zhonglu, Tibetan mountain village in Danba County, China
Zhonglu is a Tibetan village in the Garze Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan Province located at approximately 2,100 meters elevation. The houses have white walls and the roofs of religious buildings shine with golden colors.
The village emerged approximately 2500 years ago through settlement and interaction between Tibetan and Qiangic peoples in this mountain region. Over centuries, watchtowers were constructed to protect the community.
The Jiarong Tibetan people who live here maintain their traditions through farming, local dance performances, and religious practices at sacred sites. You can observe these customs throughout the village in daily routines and celebrations.
