Zollernalbkreis

Located in the middle of Baden-Württemberg, Zollernalbkreis extends over 917 square kilometers of land between the Swabian Alb mountains and River Danube.

The district formed in 1973 through the combination of Balingen and Hechingen districts, carrying forward the administrative traditions of both regions.

The district preserves the Swabian German language and exhibits the black-and-white checkered Hohenzollern symbol alongside Württemberg's triple deer antler in its coat of arms.

Twenty-five municipalities, including the capital Balingen and major towns Albstadt and Hechingen, provide administrative services to 190,545 residents across the district.

The Dreibannmarke in Heuberg marks a historical triple border point where Württemberg, Baden, and Hohenzollern territories met, serving merchants and craftsmen.
