Lager Wolterdingen, Military camp in Soltau, Germany.
Lager Wolterdingen was a military installation in the Wolterdingen district of Soltau with multiple barracks, training facilities, and administrative buildings. The structures were spread across a large area designed to house and train military personnel.
The site began in 1934 as a sports facility and was converted in 1935 into an SS training ground. It then served as a Wehrmacht base for various units until the end of the war in 1945.
The camp facilities represented the transformation of German military infrastructure from the pre-war period through the post-war reconstruction phase.
The remaining structures are now privately owned and not open to the public for access. Visitors can view the site from the surrounding area while respecting private property boundaries.
Between 1940 and 1941, roughly 4,000 naval personnel trained here in preparation for a planned invasion of England. This specialized training mission represented a significant military objective at the time.
