Desouk Bridge, Railway bridge in Desouk, Egypt

The steel truss bridge extends 610 meters across the Lower Nile, connecting Desouk City with Rahmaniyah Markaz through two main sections separated by Rahmaniyah Island.

The Egyptian government established the bridge in 1897 during Khedive Abbas Helmi II's reign, with French company La Maison Sereau-Louis supporting the initial construction.

The bridge stands near the tomb of Ibrahim El Desouki, where annual celebrations in October draw more than one million visitors from various provinces and countries.

The bridge underwent major upgrades in 1926 when Dorman Long company replaced metal components and reinforced existing piers to accommodate first-class train traffic.

The structure functions as a swing bridge, allowing river vessels to pass underneath while maintaining railway connections across the Nile at coordinates 31.130556N, 30.636667E.
