Adwa

Adwa is a stratovolcano in the Somali Region that rises prominently above the surrounding landscape and is composed entirely of basalt rock. The summit features a large crater formation that dominates the peak.

This volcano formed through successive eruptions and the accumulation of lava and rock over extended periods. The last recorded volcanic activity occurred in the early 20th century.

The location of Adwa near tribal boundaries influences the relationships between the Afar and Issa communities regarding territorial considerations.
