Parc naturel régional des Préalpes d'Azur

The park spans 889 square kilometers across 48 municipalities, with elevations ranging from 300 to 1,800 meters in the Alpes-Maritimes department.

The establishment process began in 2004 with a regional charter, leading to official recognition through a ministerial decree on March 30, 2012.

Local market gardeners, oil producers, and beekeepers maintain traditional practices while contributing to the preservation of regional agricultural heritage.

The park features marked trails for hiking, cycling routes including the Route des Clues, and natural sites suitable for canyoning activities.

The protected area contains 1,952 underground caves and 137 kilometers of galleries, supporting a variety of specialized cave-dwelling species.
