Nigawa Station, railway station in Takarazuka, Hyogo prefecture, Japan
Nigawa Station is a railway stop in Takarazuka that operates as part of the Hankyu Railway network on the Kobe and Takarazuka lines. The station has two platforms on either side of the tracks, ticket counters, ticket machines, and features underground passages connecting the platforms for easy navigation.
The station opened in December 1923 as part of the original railway connection. After World War II, the area underwent changes when a former aircraft factory was dismantled and the land was later converted into a racecourse.
The name Nigawa comes from a river marking the boundary between Takarazuka and Nishinomiya. The station serves as a gathering point for commuters and visitors moving through this quiet neighborhood and participating in the rhythm of daily life.
Staff are available from 6 in the morning until around 6:15 in the evening with short breaks during the day, and an intercom system provides assistance when staff are not on duty. The station features elevators, accessible restrooms, diaper changing tables, and direct access to bus and taxi services for connecting to other parts of the area.
A former station called Kashio once stood between Nigawa and Obayashi during World War II near an aircraft factory. This connected history shows how local infrastructure and its purpose shifted over the decades.
