The Kitakyushu Literature Museum exhibits manuscripts and materials from regional authors through permanent and temporary exhibitions spread across two floors.

Architect Arata Isozaki designed this cultural institution, which opened its doors on November 1, 2006 to preserve the literary heritage of Kitakyushu.

The museum collection features works from notable authors including Mori Ogai, Fumiko Hayashi, and Ashihei Hino who shaped Japanese literature.

The facility operates from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM with admission fees of 240 yen for adults and reduced rates for students and children.

Digital exhibition systems enable visitors to examine materials in detail, while literary monuments dot the surrounding Katsuyama Park grounds.
