Okura Coast, Waterfront park in Akashi, Japan
Okura Coast is a waterfront park in Akashi that runs along the Seto Inland Sea, offering open grass areas and enclosed sports fields. The grounds combine tree-lined paths with zones for ball games and outdoor leisure on multiple levels.
The coast was reshaped in the late twentieth century when the natural shoreline was converted into a recreational area for the community. The site linked urban planning with the creation of new green space along the water at that time.
The park functions as a central location for regional festivals throughout the year, connecting local residents through sports tournaments and seasonal celebrations.
The park has two parking areas on the east and west sides that provide direct access. Both JR Asakiri and Sanyo Okuratani stations are within walking distance nearby.
On weekday mornings the turf field is reserved for elementary school children who gather here in groups for sports. From the afternoon onward the grounds open to visitors of all ages.
