Fujimi Panorama Resort, Ski resort in Fujimi, Japan.
Fujimi Panorama Resort is a ski resort on Mount Nyukasa in the town of Fujimi, in Nagano Prefecture. Several runs of different difficulty levels cover the slope, and lifts bring skiers up to around 1,780 meters (5,840 feet) above sea level.
The resort is located near venues used for the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, which helped shape how ski infrastructure grew across this mountain region. In the years that followed, slopes and lifts were expanded to handle more visitors.
Mountain restaurants here serve regional dishes that visitors experience between runs during the winter season. This connection to local food traditions gives the place roots in the surrounding area.
A direct train from Tokyo reaches Fujimi Station, and from there a shuttle covers the short distance to the resort in a few minutes. During the winter season, transport fills up quickly, so planning ahead makes the trip easier.
In summer, the ski area becomes a mountain biking destination, with a long downhill course served by the same lifts that carry skiers in winter. This means the same infrastructure quietly switches purpose twice a year without major changes.
