Shangrila Resort Skardu, Mountain resort in Skardu District, Pakistan
The Shangrila Resort stretches along Lower Kachura Lake, with cottages positioned at different elevations offering views of the water and mountains.
Brigadier Muhammad Aslam Khan established this first northern Pakistani resort in 1983 as part of his vision to develop tourism in the Baltistan region.
The resort incorporates elements of local Balti architecture and traditions, featuring regional decorative elements throughout its buildings and common spaces.
The property contains 30 rooms with fireplaces, provides free airport transfers, and maintains multiple dining venues serving Pakistani and international dishes.
A heart-shaped lake forms the centerpiece of the resort, with guest accommodations arranged in a circular pattern around its perimeter.
