Capital Tower, Skyscraper in Downtown Core, Singapore
Capital Tower is a 52-story skyscraper in the Downtown Core district of Singapore, rising to 255 meters (837 ft). Its glass and steel facade sits within one of the densest clusters of office towers in the city, along the Tanjong Pagar corridor.
The tower was completed in 2000 and first served as the headquarters for POSBank. CapitaLand later took ownership and made it their main corporate address, shifting the building's role within the city's business district.
The China Club occupies the upper floors of the tower, offering dining rooms and meeting spaces decorated in a style inspired by old Chinese merchant culture. The club draws business visitors from across the region and gives the building a layer of identity beyond its corporate function.
Tanjong Pagar MRT station is a short walk away and makes the building easy to reach by public transit. The surrounding streets are busy during morning and evening rush hours, so visiting outside those times makes getting around the area easier.
The building uses a double-deck elevator system, where each car serves two floors at the same time, cutting waiting times in a tower of this height. This type of system is rare in Singapore and tends to catch first-time visitors off guard.
