Li Family Historical Residence

The Li Family Historical Residence is a two-story house with a symmetrical floor plan built in 1931, featuring a central hall, porch, and surrounding arcades. Inside, original features such as antique furniture and traditional household items remain in place.

The house was built by Li Rong, a seventh-generation member of the Li family who migrated from Zhejiang province to Taiwan. Construction reflects a period when Taiwan's architecture was changing and absorbing new influences from abroad.

The building blends Chinese design principles with European elements visible in the stone facade and decorative tile details. This mixture reflects how different cultural influences shaped the architectural choices of the era.

The residence is located in an accessible area of Gushan District and preserves many original features visible during a visit. Visitors should allow time to explore the interior layout and details of the furnishings.

The house took nine years to build, reflecting the complex craftsmanship and careful execution of its mixed design elements. This extended construction period shows the commitment to quality and detailed work during a transitional era.
