Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park, State resort park in Marshall County, United States
Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park is a recreational facility along Kentucky Lake covering 1,351 acres with forests, wetlands, and open fields. The park provides lodging in a main lodge, rental cabins, and campgrounds, along with an 18-hole golf course and boat ramps for water activities.
The Tennessee Valley Authority built Kentucky Dam during the 1940s to control flooding and generate electricity for the region. The creation of the artificial lake transformed the landscape and led to the later development of the park as a recreation area.
The lodge and convention center serve as gathering places where local fishing competitions, craft fairs, and seasonal celebrations happen throughout the year. Visitors experience how the community uses these spaces for fishing traditions and local celebrations that connect people to the lake and the region.
The park is most enjoyable during mild weather, with spring and fall offering the most comfortable conditions. Visitors should plan for outdoor activities and note that water and forest conditions vary by season.
The park earned a three-diamond AAA rating in 2007, making it among the first state resort parks to receive this recognition. This award reflects the quality of facilities and services available to visitors.
