Quail Hollow State Park, Nature reserve in Stark County, United States.
Quail Hollow State Park is a 703-acre park in Stark County featuring rolling meadows, marshes, pine woods, and deciduous forests connected by numerous hiking trails. The grounds include a 40-room manor house and Shady Lane Pond, a lake for fishing.
Conrad Brumbaugh established the first permanent settlement on this land in 1820, constructing a homestead that remained in family ownership until 1914. The original property was later transformed into the manor house that stands today.
The manor house displays Greek Revival and Federal architectural styles that reflect how wealthy American families designed their homes in the early 1900s. The rooms and furnishings inside offer a window into how the residents lived and what mattered to them.
The park offers 19 miles of trails suitable for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding, allowing visitors to choose routes based on their ability and interests. Bring appropriate gear based on the season and your planned activity.
The grounds contain glacial formations from approximately 12,000 years ago that created kettle lakes scattered across the land. One of these lakes has transformed into a sphagnum peat bog, a rare habitat that offers a glimpse into the region's geological past.
