St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church, Romanesque Revival church in Detroit, United States
The Catholic church building stood at 2356 Vermont Avenue, featuring a square louvered bell tower topped with an octagonal metal roof and heavy buttresses.
St. Boniface Catholic Church, established in 1867 and completed in 1883, served German immigrants along Michigan Avenue until its closure in 1989.
The cruciform structure combined Romanesque Revival and Ruskinian Gothic styles, with red brick walls, cream-painted wood, and steeply gabled stone entry arches.
The church building, which cost 30,000 dollars to construct, included a high nave roof and a two-story Italianate rectory built in 1873.
Following its closure in 1989 and demolition in 1996, the structure was removed from the National Register of Historic Places in 2022.
