Zhang Fei Temple

The temple stands on Feifeng Mountain along the Yangtze River bank, featuring northern and southern Chinese architectural elements across its seven main buildings.

Built during the late Han Dynasty over 1700 years ago, the temple commemorates General Zhang Fei, a military leader from the Three Kingdoms period.

The temple buildings contain stone carvings, wooden sculptures, paintings, and calligraphy works that represent traditional Chinese artistic expressions.

The temple complex operates throughout the year with spring and winter offering the most favorable conditions for visitors due to moderate temperatures.

After the Three Gorges Dam construction submerged the original structure, architects created a new temple incorporating the natural landscape through terraced designs.
