Jianmen Shudao National Park

Jianmen Shudao National Park is an area with steep mountain paths, stone walkways, and carved cliffs that extends across multiple sections of the historical Shu Road network. The routes pass through various elevations and connect several notable spots including the Buddhist cliff and the memorial to the classical poet.

The area served as a strategic mountain passage during the Three Kingdoms period, connecting Sichuan and Shaanxi for military and trade activities. The road evolved over centuries and shaped trade relationships between northern and southern regions of China.

The Thousand-Buddha Cliff displays Buddhist carvings accumulated over centuries of devotion. The Li Bai Memorial honors the Tang Dynasty poet's deep connection to this mountain region.

The park is best visited during late spring and early fall months when temperatures are mild and paths are dry. Visitors should bring sturdy footwear and plenty of water, as hiking routes are steep and rest areas are limited.

Glass skywalks were installed along certain sections of the ancient mountain paths, offering visitors a contemporary view of the historical routes. This modern addition contrasts sharply with the centuries-old stonework and creates an unexpected meeting of old and new.
