Dongjiguan Mountain, Military bastion in Lüshunkou District, China

The Dongjiguan Mountain fortress features concrete walls, defensive moats, and ammunition storage facilities spread across 9,900 square meters of pentagonal layout.

During the Russo-Japanese War in 1904, Japanese forces used 2.3 tons of dynamite to capture this Russian-built fortification, resulting in 8,000 casualties.

The fortress now functions as the Lushun Russo-Japanese War Museum, displaying military artifacts and documenting the conflict between imperial powers.

The fortress entrance fee costs 20 yuan, with guided tours available in multiple languages explaining the military architecture and defense systems.

Bullet marks remain visible on the fortress walls, while underground tunnels and damaged structures preserve the exact state following the 1904 siege.
