Modern Buildings on Zhongshan Square in Dalian

Ten classical structures from the early 20th century form a circular perimeter around the 213-meter diameter square with radiating roads connecting downtown areas.

Originally built as Nikolayevskaya Square in 1898 under Russian control, the area includes buildings constructed during subsequent Japanese administration until 1945.

The buildings represent different architectural styles, from Renaissance with Corinthian columns to French designs, now serving as banks and financial institutions.

Multiple pedestrian underpasses connect the square to surrounding streets, while the circular layout allows easy access to ten major roads in central Dalian.

The Industrial and Commercial Bank building at No. 1 features Renaissance architecture dating from 1920, when it operated as the Bank of Korea.
