Dalian Greenland Center, Postmodern skyscraper in Dalian, China
Dalian Greenland Center is a postmodern skyscraper with 88 stories above ground and 4 levels below in the city center of Dalian. The building houses office spaces, a hotel, and retail shops distributed across its many floors.
The project broke ground in September 2010 and officially commenced construction on October 22, 2014 under the Greenland Group. Completion added a major new presence to Dalian's expanding skyline.
The architectural firm Hellmuth, Obata and Kassabaum designed this skyscraper, incorporating elements of Chinese and international design principles into its structure.
The building has 37 elevators that move people efficiently between its many floors and minimize wait times. Visitors heading to upper levels should allow extra time for the elevator journey.
The structure reaches 518 meters tall, making it one of the most visible landmarks in the region when viewed from various points across the city. This height makes it an easy reference point for navigation and orientation.
