The Dalian International Trade Center is a 370 m (1,210 ft) supertall skyscraper in Dalian, Liaoning, with 86 above-ground floors and 7 basement levels. It was designed by the architecture firm HOK, and the Chinese source credits the Dalian Architectural Design and Research Institute. Construction began in 2003 and the building was completed in 2019.
The project began in 2003 with an interruption, then resumed in 2012 and reached full completion in 2019. This timeline reflects the building's adaptation to changing market demands during its long development.
The name combines the city with the international trade center concept, and the tower stands in Dalian's business district in Liaoning. Its 86 above-ground floors and 7 basement levels make it one of the tallest buildings in China, and the Chinese sources note it ranks among the country's 20 tallest skyscrapers.
The building is best viewed from the surrounding business district where its full height is visible from multiple angles. Inside, various facilities occupy different sections, so checking signage or asking at entry points helps find your destination.
The tower's construction was halted for years before work restarted on 6 April 2012 on a site across the road from the original one. It was topped out in 2017 and completed in 2019, roughly sixteen years after the first groundbreaking in 2003.
