Zeiger

Zeiger is a mountain peak in the Allgäuer Alps reaching about 1995 meters in height. The summit offers wide views across surrounding ridges and the rolling terrain of Bavaria.

The hiking routes on this mountain were developed early in the region's Alpine tourism era and connected traditional mountain villages. These marked trails shaped how people moved through the high country for many decades.

Wooden sculptures placed along the hiking paths show how the region values its natural surroundings and local wildlife. These art pieces help visitors recognize native plants and animals as they walk through the landscape.

The trail starts from the Oybele-Halle parking area near Oberstdorf and follows a circular route about 14 kilometers long with roughly 930 meters of elevation gain. Sturdy footwear and decent fitness help since the path is fairly demanding.

At Zeigersattel, a section of the hiking route, there are viewpoints where paragliders launch from nearby platforms. This creates an exciting spectacle for hikers, especially during the summer season.
