Vashlovani National Park

Vashlovani National Park is a protected nature reserve in eastern Georgia featuring deep canyons, vertical rock formations, and open highlands. The terrain combines semi-arid zones with Mediterranean plant species and various geological structures.

The protected area was established in the 1930s to preserve specific forest types and landscape formations. Its current size was reached through an expansion completed in the early 2000s.

The park's landscape reflects how local communities have long coexisted with the land, using traditional methods of moving through these mountains. You can observe how settlements near the park boundaries connect to the wider region around them.
