Monte Genevris

Monte Genevris rises to an elevation of 2,545 meters in the Cottian Alps, featuring distinct trails through forests and meadows to its prominent peak.

The Stazione Sperimentale Alpina Vezzani, built in the 1930s near the mountain base, served as a research facility for high-altitude agriculture and cattle studies.

The summit lighthouse, known as Faro degli Alpini, represents local mountaineering traditions and underwent restoration by community volunteers in July 2022.

The main hiking route spans 11.7 kilometers with an 847-meter elevation gain, requiring approximately four and a half hours to reach the summit.

From the peak, hikers can observe both the Val di Susa and Val Chisone valleys, while also spotting mountain ranges extending into French territory.
