Muroran Ferry Terminal is a three-story building with ticket counters, passenger waiting areas, and an observation deck overlooking the port. The facility houses everything needed for travelers preparing to cross the strait by ferry.

The terminal resumed service in 2018 following a decade of closure after East Japan Ferry's bankruptcy left the route inactive. This restart restored ferry service between the islands after years without regular connections.

The terminal connects two island regions and serves as a daily meeting point where passengers from Hokkaido and Honshu begin their journeys across the strait. Local commuters and travelers pass through here regularly, making it part of the rhythm of transportation between the islands.

The terminal has clear signage throughout and is straightforward to navigate, with distinct areas for tickets and boarding. Visitors should plan to arrive well before departure to allow time for check-in and finding their way.

The observation area offers views of the Hakucho Bridge and the harbor's industrial facilities, giving visitors a sense of the port landscape. Passengers can purchase frozen yakitori bento boxes from vending machines, a popular local snack choice for the journey.
