Liberty Sculpture Park

Liberty Sculpture Park is a sculpture garden in the Mojave Desert featuring large outdoor artworks that address political and social themes. The 36-acre space displays modern installations across the open landscape, with interpretive signs in English and Mandarin to guide visitors.

The park was founded in 2017 by artist Chen Weiming and has presented works responding to significant historical events. It was established as a space for artistic engagement with political themes and has grown its collection over time.

The sculptures here address themes of freedom of expression and social movements that visitors can see represented through the artworks. The park serves as an outdoor gallery where people encounter these messages while walking among the installations.

The park is located along Interstate 15 between Barstow and Las Vegas and offers free admission to visitors. The walkways cross the flat desert landscape, making it easy to navigate and explore the site at your own pace.

The park displays a sculpture called CCP Virus II depicting Xi Jinping surrounded by coronavirus proteins, which replaced an earlier destroyed version. This work shows how the artist continuously revises and adapts the installations in response to current events.
