The California Route 66 Museum contains three display rooms with photographs, artifacts, and vintage cars documenting the history of America's famous highway.
The museum opened in 1995 in a former Red Rooster Cafe building, which previously served as a filming location for the Neil Diamond film 'The Jazz Singer'.
The exhibits demonstrate how Route 66 influenced American travel habits through collections of road signs, classic automobiles, and historic photographs from different decades.
Visitors can explore the 5,000-square-foot facility from Friday to Saturday between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, and on Sunday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
The museum building stands at the exact location where Victorville originated, near the former railroad depot that burned down in 1983.
