Sï-Shen-Tsï Methodist Church

The church building features Gothic Revival architecture with solid brick walls, fine board floors, and stands 18 meters tall with 3,000 square meters of total area.

The Canadian Methodist Mission established this church in 1894, which underwent multiple reconstructions after destruction during the anti-religious turmoil of 1895 and Boxer Rebellion in 1900.

The church structure combines Western architectural elements with Chinese design motifs, reflecting the integration of Protestant and Chinese traditions in religious spaces.

The building contains more than 1,200 square meters of usable space and operates under the Three-Self Patriotic Church framework, providing regular religious services to the community.

Located next to Sichuan Theological Seminary on Sishengci North Street, this church doubled its capacity in 1911 through an expansion funded partly by a thousand-dollar gold donation.
