Sichuan Science and Technology Museum, Science museum in Qingyang District, Chengdu, China.
The Sichuan Science and Technology Museum is a modern science museum spread across five floors with over 600 exhibits arranged in 20 permanent display areas. The collection combines scientific displays with regional models and interactive elements designed for different visitor interests.
The museum opened in 2006 under the Sichuan Association for Science and Technology as part of efforts to expand scientific education in the province. Its creation reflected China's growing commitment to bringing science education to broader audiences.
The exhibitions feature models of local natural wonders like Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong, as well as displays about the historic Dujiangyan irrigation system that continues to serve the region today. These displays show how past engineering shaped the landscape and remains important to local communities.
The museum is easily accessible via Tianfu Square Station on Metro Lines 1 or 2, and operates Tuesday through Sunday from 9 AM to 5 PM. Visitors should allow enough time to explore the different exhibition areas, particularly the interactive stations spread across multiple floors.
The fourth floor features specialized workshops including a Robot Workshop and fire safety drill stations where visitors can conduct hands-on experiments. These practical activities allow visitors to directly experience scientific concepts rather than simply observing them.
