Sanyi Temple, temple in Wuhou District, Chengdu, China

Sanyi Temple is a Qing-dynasty shrine inside the Wuhou Shrine complex in Chengdu's Wuhou District. It consists of a worship hall, a main hall and two side corridors. The five-bay main hall has a post-and-lintel roof frame and holds painted clay statues of Liu Bei (2.8 m) flanked by Guan Yu and Zhang Fei (2.6 m each).

Sanyi Temple was first built during the Kangxi reign of the Qing dynasty on Tidu Street in Chengdu. In 1997 it was moved into the Wuhou Shrine complex because of urban construction, and reconstruction was completed in January 1998 using the original building components and plaques. It was listed as a Chengdu municipal cultural relic protection unit in 1981.

The temple is named for Liu Bei, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, the three sworn brothers of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Its worship hall holds two black marble reliefs carved with the Peach Garden Oath and the Three Heroes' fight against Lü Bu, scenes that draw visitors familiar with the story.

Sanyi Temple stands inside the Wuhou Shrine complex on Wuhouci Street in Wuhou District, so entry follows the shrine's grounds rather than a separate gate. The halls are reached on foot through the complex, and the relocated 1997 structure keeps its original components and plaques in place.

The temple honours Liu Bei, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei of the Three Kingdoms, not Buddhist figures. Its worship hall holds two black marble reliefs carved with the Peach Garden Oath and the Three Heroes' fight against Lü Bu, and a large bell hangs east of the gate.
