Zorawar Fort, Historical fort in Leh, India
The fort stands on Skara Road, featuring stone walls, clay structures, and multiple buildings that contain exhibition rooms and military artifacts.
General Zorawar Singh Kahluria, a military commander under Dogra ruler Gulab Singh, constructed this defensive structure in 1836 during his northern expansion campaigns.
The fort museum preserves a collection of ancient coins, stamps, and treasures that belonged to the Dogra Dynasty rulers of the Jammu region.
Visitors can access the fort between May and September, with operating hours from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM for an entry fee of 20 rupees.
The museum displays the War Room with original military equipment, along with detailed descriptions of Maharaja Gulab Singh and commander Mehta Basti Ram.
