Ningbo City Exhibition Hall
The Ningbo City Exhibition Hall is a modern museum in Ningbo that showcases the city's history and development over many years. The building features various displays with old photographs, models, and information panels that help visitors understand how Ningbo has changed and grown.
The building was completed in 2019 and is part of Ningbo Eastern New Town, a new neighborhood designed as a modern district. The architecture was created by Swiss and German firms Playze and Schmidhuber, who drew inspiration from the traditional Chinese ribbon dance.
The building is spacious and inviting, located in a busy part of Ningbo near important government buildings and open squares. The interior spaces are organized to help visitors easily understand the information about the city's development, with exhibits arranged across different themed areas.
The building's facade is covered with ceramic panels that flow like ribbons and change appearance depending on the weather, time of day, and light conditions. These glazed tiles honor Ningbo's long tradition in ceramic craftsmanship and its role as a major ceramic trading center along the ancient Silk Road.
