Mingzhou Bridge

Mingzhou Bridge is a highway bridge in Ningbo stretching about 1250 meters with eight traffic lanes for vehicles moving in both directions. The main span across the water measures approximately 450 meters and carries significant daily traffic flow.

Construction began in 2008 and the bridge opened in 2011, marking an important step forward in Ningbo's infrastructure development. This project was part of the city's broader effort to improve connectivity across its districts.

The name refers to Mingzhou, the ancient name Ningbo carried during the Tang and Song dynasties. This choice keeps the city's historical identity present in everyday conversations about modern infrastructure.

The bridge carries passenger vehicles and trucks moving through the city in both directions to save travel time. It functions as a major route for people commuting between different parts of Ningbo.

The bridge is part of a network with other major crossing structures including Jintang Bridge, Xihoumen Bridge, and Xiangshan Harbor Bridge. Together these span across the region forming a highway system that links different parts of Zhejiang Province.
