Acuario de Sevilla, Public aquarium in Seville, Spain.
Acuario de Sevilla is a facility where visitors walk through connected exhibition spaces filled with aquatic life from different environments. The tanks show creatures from rivers, oceans, and other water habitats, allowing you to observe how different species live side by side.
This facility opened in 2014 at a location tied to Seville's port district. The design draws inspiration from the city's maritime heritage and the great voyages that shaped world exploration.
The name reflects Seville's historical connection to river and maritime trade routes. You walk through spaces designed to show how marine ecosystems work and why protecting them matters to communities worldwide.
Wear comfortable shoes, as the walking route through the different areas is fairly long and requires good pacing. Visiting early in the day often means fewer crowds and better chances to observe the animals when they are more active.
The largest tank here gives sharks a vast space to swim and display their natural behavior patterns. Its unusual depth and water volume make it stand out among European aquarium installations.
