Kuzina, Greek restaurant in Thiseio, Athens, Greece
Kuzina is a Greek restaurant on Adrianou Street in the Thiseio neighborhood of Athens, housed in a converted mansion close to the Temple of Hephaestus. The building spans several floors and includes an indoor dining room, an upper terrace, and a rooftop space called Tarazza.
The building dates to the period when Thiseio was developed as a residential neighborhood in the 19th century, growing around the ancient ruins of the Agora site. Adrianou Street itself is one of the oldest continuously used roads in this part of the city.
The name Kuzina comes from the Greek word for kitchen, signaling a focus on home-style cooking rather than formal dining. The menu draws on recipes from different parts of Greece, so each dish reflects a specific regional tradition rather than a generic national cuisine.
Booking ahead is advisable for evenings and weekends, as the terrace tables fill up fast. The rooftop Tarazza is only open from April through October, so if outdoor dining on the top floor is a priority, timing your visit accordingly makes a difference.
The upper terrace offers a direct line of sight to both the Acropolis and the Temple of Hephaestus, which is one of the best-preserved ancient Greek temples anywhere. This means diners can see two of Athens' most recognized ancient monuments at the same time without moving from their table.
