Regent Hong Kong, hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong
Regent Hong Kong is a hotel on the waterfront of Tsim Sha Tsui, facing Victoria Harbour directly. Most of its rooms and public areas are oriented toward the water, giving a clear view of Hong Kong Island's skyline from across the harbour.
The hotel first opened in 1980 under the name The Regent, making it one of the early large hotels on the Kowloon waterfront. It later operated as InterContinental Hong Kong before returning to the Regent name in 2021 after a full renovation.
The restaurant Yan Toh Heen inside the hotel is one of the few Cantonese restaurants in Hong Kong to hold two Michelin stars. Guests there eat from jade bowls and hand-painted porcelain, which gives a sense of how food and craft tradition come together in Hong Kong dining.
The hotel sits directly above Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station, making it easy to reach other parts of the city without needing a taxi. The Star Ferry terminal and the waterfront promenade are both within a short walk, so it is easy to explore the area on foot.
During the renovation between 2019 and 2021, workers found traces of old fishing boats in the foundations of the building, pointing to how this stretch of waterfront was used long before the hotel was built. The finds were recorded before construction continued.
