General Division Omar Torrijos Herrera National Park

General Division Omar Torrijos Herrera National Park is a protected forest area in Panama with diverse terrain, ranging from lowlands to mountain peaks. The landscape supports different types of forests at various elevations, creating habitats for many species of wildlife.

Panama's government established this protected area in 1986 as part of early efforts to save large forest regions from destruction. The designation came during a time when the country was beginning to recognize the importance of preserving its natural lands.
