General Division Omar Torrijos Herrera National Park, National park in Coclé Province, Panama.
The national park covers 25,275 hectares of land with elevations ranging from 80 meters to peaks reaching 1,710 meters above sea level.
The Panamanian government established this protected area on July 31, 1986, naming it after military leader General Omar Torrijos Herrera.
Indigenous communities near the park boundaries maintain traditional practices while engaging with visitors to share their knowledge of local ecosystems.
Access to the park requires a four-wheel drive vehicle from El Copé, with the main entrance road ascending to 910 meters.
The park contains breeding grounds for rare species including the Orange-breasted Falcon and houses the endangered Panama golden frog.
