The distillery received its first license to produce and sell mezcal wine from King Charles IV of Spain in 1795, marking the beginning of commercial tequila production.
Master distillers at La Rojena maintain traditional production methods, using volcanic clay ovens to cook agave hearts and copper pot stills for distillation.
The facility offers four types of guided tours ranging from one to three hours, with prices between 200 and 720 Mexican pesos per person.
Visitors can participate in blending sessions to create their personal tequila mixture and bottle it directly from aging barrels in the cellar.
